Croatia has a coastline made for weddings: stone towns in Istria, olive groves and vineyards above the sea, and the islands and old towns of Dalmatia. From my home in Slovenia, Istria is less than two hours away, so I know this part of the Adriatic well.

I have photographed weddings in Croatia and along the same stretch of coast in Piran, just across the border. Seaside ceremonies, long dinners by the water and parties under the stars: I photograph it all as one honest story.

How I photograph your day

On the coast the midday sun is strong, so I like evening ceremonies and portraits in the last hour of light, when the sea and the stone walls turn soft and warm. Old town streets give beautiful shade and texture earlier in the day.
